Have you, as a healthcare professional, received a question from a patient and are you looking for answers? We are here to assist you in informing your patient as thoroughly as possible about PrEP. On this page, we aim to provide you with all the ins and outs about PrEP, the latest developments, and, most importantly, the protocols and prices related to PrEP, especially when it is prescribed.
Why Use PrEP?
PrEP is available for everyone, regardless of sexual orientation (heterosexual, homosexual, bi+), gender identity (cis, trans, non-binary), or sex (men and women). The use of PrEP is a personal choice in which healthcare professionals play an important role. One significant reason to consider PrEP is that it can reduce the fear of HIV, but there are also other good reasons.
Why is My Role as a Healthcare Professional Important?
Obtaining PrEP is currently not easy for patients. Public Health Services (GGD) often have long waiting lists, leading many patients to turn to general practitioners. Some general practitioners handle this well and prescribe PrEP, while others refuse to do so for various reasons. This results in preventable HIV infections. As PrEPnu Foundation, we strive to encourage healthcare professionals to take responsibility and prescribe PrEP to the target group for which it is intended.
The Importance of Collaboration: Healthcare Professionals and PrEPnu
PrEPnu Foundation has various (general) practitioners, HIV specialists, and HIV nurses who provide colleagues with medical advice on PrEP. Currently, we are working hard to make this information available on our website. If you have urgent questions, please feel free to email us.
